Many years ago I stood on a cliff and shouted to God ‘if you’re out there help me’. I believe He answered this prayer and I have experienced a journey of faith now over several decades. Yes I have suffered, yes I have made some mistakes I deeply regret, but I am assured that a loving heavenly Father always forgives me and will never let me down.
Today I want to write about the gift that I have found is the greatest hope of all in life; the promise of eternal life. I am using the inspirational publication ‘Word For Today’ as my aid to write today’s message. It is full of treasure; daily encouraging words that are a great beginning to every morning. I am using the Hebrew name for Jesus.
In John 1 verse 14 it states: ‘The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth’.
This is paraphrased by Eugene Peterson: ‘The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood. We saw the glory with own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish’.
Another beautiful passage in the bible (John 3:16), reads: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
So the recipe of Hope today is to reflect on these words from ‘The Word For Today’ ‘God loves you and wants to bless every area of your life’. If you do not have a Christian faith I would ask you to consider your view of God and reflect on life’s meaning for you. If you have a Christian belief and may be struggling with regrets, God always gives you a second chance. Don’t look back, but press towards a brighter tomorrow.
May you all be richly blesssed X
